Frequently asked questions

what is the shelf life of my tallow whip?

Each jar is good for 6 months, and can even be kept longer if cared for properly! Store your jars in a cool, dry area in your home and away from moisture. When you use your tallow whip, make sure you use clean, dry hands to prevent moisture/bacteria from getting in the jar as much as possible.

my jar looks like it’s not filled all the way. did I get jipped?!

Absolutely not! Each jar I weigh out myself to the precise ounce. Due to the nature of tallow, the consistency can vary throughout the year and can contribute to volume size, but you are getting the exact amount being sold for, every time.

why is the consistency of my jar different from my last jar?

Tallow is an inherently natural ingredient, meaning no nasty chemicals or toxins. Each batch can ever so slightly vary in consistency, hue and scent; rest assured, I use the same methods each and every time I formulate these products! Another factor to note is temperature. All of our tallow whips are fat/oil based. This means if it is cool, it will harden. If it is warm, it will smoothen. Each batch has the same ingredients and benefits!

can I use tallow on my baby?

Of course!

My son is the catalyst as to why Of Grace and Garden began. I wanted to create a product that I felt comfortable and safe using on myself and my newborn at the time. We highly recommend using the Calendula Whip or Vanilla Cloud Whip for your baby as they are both gentle and effective! You can use tallow for body lotion, diaper cream, cradle cap prevention, rashes, cuts, + sunburn.
